Use Leap of Faith when there are multiple enemies nearby so that you spawn the max number of tentacles. This can dramatically shift a teamfight because the tentacles deal a lot of damage.

Q: What is Illaoi's greatest strength?

A: Illaoi does great in teamfights. She deals a lot of AoE damage and heals based on the number of enemies hit. She is sometimes more unkillable in teamfights than in 1:1 engagements. She just needs to survive long enough between her tentacle strikes to heal back up again. Including some tank or other HP items in your Illaoi build will help her dominate team combat.

Q: What is Illaoi's greatest weakness?

A: Illaoi's damage and survivability depend on her having tentacles nearby. During the laning phase, these can be knocked out relatively easily by ranged champions. During the roaming phase of the game, she won't often stay long enough in one spot to build up enough tentacles to be terrifying. While her Ult will spawn additional tentacles for each nearby champion, it isn't a sure thing and has a long cooldown.
