Be careful about putting down both of the soldiers stored by Arise! Unless you're going all-in, always have a soldier in your back pocket if you need to escape over a wall or if you misposition your other soldier and need damage now.
Think of Emperor's Divide as a defensive ability first and foremost. Use it when the enemy engages on you or your allies. Remember that your team can walk through the soldiers summoned by Emperor's Divide and use this to your advantage when enemy melee champions engage on you.

When Anivia plays on the same team as Azir, she observes a measurable drop in her full damage output. This may indicate that Azir does not provide cover for her to dish out more damage or that his presence also helps increase the game's duration. Similarly, when Anivia is played with Azir on the same side, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when she plays without Azir. This is contrasting evidence that she is worse when playing synergisticly with Azir.
Additionally, when Anivia plays with Azir on the same side, she often receives a little less damage than when she plays alone. Taking not as much damage may indicate that Azir does a decent job of protecting Anivia during team fights.
There is no one best synergy for Anivia that will always be her #1 synergy. Yet, Azir is a good companion for Anivia. By being on the same side as Anivia, he improves their win rate by 1.7% to 52.6%. This proves that there is pretty good strategic relationship between Anivia and Azir that results in them performing better together than without each other.
Azir has a lower difficulty than Anivia. That means Anivia players don't need to be careful when enlisting Azir teammates to fight alongside, as they will have to have a relatively low level of skill to fight well with you.
When playing together, Anivia players should expect to witness an overall large increase in your team’s ability to deal magic damage. Together, these champs are able to dish out a surprising amount of magic type damage.
In contrast, by bringing Anivia and Azir together, you may not be granting your team much attack damage. Make sure to include other champs on your team that offsets this relative gap in this pairing's kit.
Regardless of the skill of your Azir teammate, you should focus on maximizing your income, staying alive by avoiding foolish fights, and clearing objectives. If you do this, you should do well anyway.
