Devastating Charge deals more damage based on the distance traveled. Try using Onslaught of Shadows or Summoner Spells such as Ghost or Flash to maximize this damage.
Spirit of Dread restores Health when nearby enemies take damage, including damage dealt by allies. Cast this during a large fight to maximize Hecarim's survivability.

Overall, Zed sees a large worsening in his KDA (ratio of kills and assists to deaths) when paired with Hecarim. His KDA fell from NaN to NaN. This negative change shows that Hecarim helps Zed perform worse in competitive League matches. Yet, the small difference proves that this performance change is not very impactful.
When Zed is an ally to Hecarim, he observes a little decrease in his full damage output. This difference could demonstrate that Hecarim does not help protection for him to dish out more damage or that his participation also helps extend the match's duration. Similarly, when Zed is played alongside Hecarim on the same team, he usually scores many fewer killing sprees compared to when he plays without Hecarim. This is contrasting evidence that he is worse when playing synergisticly with Hecarim.
Moreover, when Zed plays with Hecarim on the same team, he on average takes less damage than when he plays alone. Getting dealt not as much damage may indicate that Hecarim does a decent job of protecting Zed in team fights.
There is no top companion for Zed that will 100% of the time be his top teammate. However, overall, Hecarim is a very typical ally for Zed. By locking into the same team as Zed, he lowers their win rate by -0.8% to 47.6%. This clearly indicates that there is not really a strong bond between Zed and Hecarim that allows them to perform worse together than alone.
Hecarim has a lower difficulty than Zed. That means you don't need to be cautious when arranging Hecarim comrades to go into battle on the same side as, as they will require a relatively low level of skill to be able to cooperate well with you.
Playing on the same side, you will likely see an overall large increase in your team’s capacity to destroy wih physical damage. When paired, these champions should be able to take down targets with auto-attacks and other AD damage abilities.
In contrast, by grouping Zed and Hecarim together, you may not be giving your other teammates a great deal of utility. We recommend you bring other champions on your team that fills this gap in their capabilities.
